Around 11:25pm on Sunday, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury on Blackwatch Pass in Pembroke near the junction with North Shore Road. Details are unclear at the moment; however, it appears that a motorcycle was in collision with a taxi. The rider of the motorcycle, a 41 year old Devonshire man, was taken to KEMH for treatment of facial injuries and is currently in stable condition on a general ward. His injuries are not believed to be life threatening. The driver of the taxi, a 68 year old Pembroke man, was not injured. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Weekend Activity

Over the weekend there were 7 people arrested on suspicion of impaired driving and 5 incidents of breaking and entering. There were also 23 damage only road traffic collisions and 16 road traffic collisions resulting in injury.

Over the weekend the Police Support Unit (PSU) conducted road traffic checks on Pender Road in Sandy’s parish and South Road in Warwick, near the junction with Camp Road. As a result, 1 person was arrested for driving while disqualified, 7 people were arrested on suspicion of possessing a controlled drug (2 of them also had outstanding warrants), 3 people were arrested for outstanding warrants and 1 person was arrested on suspicion of impaired driving.

Police officers in the City of Hamilton also arrested two men for two separate incidents of breaking and entering at Spring Garden on Washington Lane. The first occurred around 5:05am on Saturday, when a 37 year old Pembroke man was found on the premises and arrested on suspicion of breaking and entering. The second occurred around 11:30pm on Sunday, when a 34 year old Southampton man was found on the premises. He was also arrested on suspicion of breaking and entering. Both men are anticipated to appear before the courts in due course.
