Burglary

Around 9:20pm on Tuesday, Police received a report of a burglary at Purvis Primary School in Warwick. The complainant stated that sometime between 7:30am on Monday and 6:10pm on Tuesday, an unknown culprit or culprits gained entry into the school. The culprits(s) stole several pieces of electrical equipment, including a pair of 4' high EZ speakers, a BBE processor, a power strip, an equalizer, a 6 disc CD player, two compressors and a Rane noise reduction tester. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Around 8pm on Tuesday, Police attended a reported burglary at an Overplus Lane, Sandy's parish residence. On arrival officers spoke with the complainant who stated that sometime between 10:45am and 7pm that day, an unknown culprit gained entry into his home while he was away from the premises. The culprit stole approximately $240 in cash and a silver portable DVD player with a 9" screen. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Counterfeit Currency

The Bermuda Police Service would like to thank businesses and the public for their cooperation and ask for their continued vigilance regarding U.S. and Bermuda counterfeit currency currently in circulation. Within the last 24 hours, we have received four reports of individuals attempting to pass counterfeit U.S. $100 bills at four different estbalishments around the island. However, due to alert staff at these premises, the counterfeit bills were identified as fake and subsequently seized by Police.
