Burglary

Around 7:10 this morning, Police attended a reported burglary at a Well Bottom, Southampton business. On arrival officers spoke with the complainant who stated that sometime between 8:30pm on Saturday and 6:30am on Sunday, an unknown culprit gained entry into the premises. Nothing was reported stolen from inside the building; however, the culprit stole a white Nissan Vanette license #L0868 parked outside. The vehicle is described as having blue writing on the front doors with an ‘Artic’ logo. Inquiries into this incident are underway. Police are appealing for anyone with any information on the whereabouts of the stolen white Nissan Vanette, license #L0868, to contact the Vehicle Crime Unit on 299-4316 or the main Police number, 295-0011.

Vessel Aground/Impaired Boat Operator

At 5:30pm on Saturday, Police received a report of a vessel that had run aground in Stocks Harbour, St. George’s. Marine Police attended the area and found a 58 year old Devonshire man unconscious at the helm of a yacht which was on the rocks. He was eventually aroused and taken onboard the Police vessel. The boat was then freed from the rocks and secured on a nearby vacant mooring in Stocks Harbour. The 58 year old was subsequently arrested on suspicion of operating a vessel while impaired, taken to the Hamilton Police Station and detained after failing the alco-analyser test.
