Police responded to a collision that took place on Tobacco Bay Road in the area of Naval Tanks Hill in St. George's at 6pm on Saturday August 13th. Details are very sketchy however it appears that the rider and a pillion passenger were traveling west on Tobacco Bay Road when they allegedly collided with a car. The rider was taken to KEMH where he was treated and released for a broken collar bone. A full investigation into the events surrounding this collision is underway.

“This collision has come under considerable scrutiny in the last few days however Police are carrying out a full investigation as per all personal injury road traffic collisions and if there are any infractions under the Road Traffic Act a file will be prepared and handed to the DPP’s Office.”


High Speed Chase

Around 2:15 this morning, Police were traveling on South Road in Warwick when they noticed a car turn into Rocklands Road in Warwick without signaling, resulting in the Police car coming to a sudden stop. The driver was signaled to pull over by Police but he failed to stop. The driver then accelerated away, taking Police on a high speed chase through Warwick. The vehicle's path was blocked by other Police cars on Sun Valley Road in Warwick which resulted in the driver jumping out of his vehicle and lunging at a Police officer. He and the Police officer fell to the ground and a struggle ensued; however, with the assistance of other officers in the area the man was restrained and handcuffed. Found on the suspect's person was a crack pipe. The chase lasted for 10 minutes with speeds in excess of 90km/h.
