Around 1:00pm, Monday, February 13, 2023, police received a call from a member of the public who found the lifeless body of a male in a secluded area covered by trees and shrubbery off of Border Lane South, Friswells Road, Pembroke.
The body was that of 23-year-old Kyari Flood of Pembroke Parish, who died as a result of gunshot wounds. His death was the first murder of 2023.
A 20-year-old male from Devonshire and a 19-year-old male from Pembroke were arrested shortly after the discovery of Mr. Flood’s body. Both men were subsequently released on police bail while the investigation into the murder of Mr. Flood continues.
Detective Inspector Jason Smith of the Serious Crimes Unit stated: “I wish to thank those members of the public who have so far come forward and provided us with information on this matter. Please understand that any information, even if you think it to be insignificant, could prove valuable to our ongoing investigation.”
Mr. Smith added: “While we are deeply appreciative of the assistance we’ve received from the public so far, we know there are other members of the community who have information that could prove helpful in solving this crime, bringing those responsible for Mr. Flood’s murder to justice.
