SUV Collision Update: Two Persons Treated & Discharged From Hospital

Around 1:20 p.m. on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, police and other first responders, attended a serious single vehicle road traffic collision involving an SUV, at the Rubis service station on East Broadway.

Upon arrival it was observed that the SUV had crashed into the building.

The collision resulted in the wall near the cashier’s station being pushed in trapping a female employee inside.

Bermuda Fire and Rescue personnel used hydraulic rescue equipment to free the employee.

She was attended to at the scene by EMTs and subsequently transported by ambulance to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for treatment to an injured leg.

A female who was seated in the front passenger seat of the SUV complained of chest pains following the collision.

She was also attended to by EMT’s and transported by ambulance to hospital for further treatment. 

At last check, both women had been attended to and discharged.

The male driver of the SUV did not appear to be injured.

An investigation into this collision is now underway and anyone with information is asked to call the main police number 295-0011 or the non-emergency reporting number 211.
