Police Officers to Monitor COVID-19 Vaccination Protest Car Rally

The Bermuda Police Service, (BPS) is aware of a post circulating on social media message, inviting members of the community to attend a peaceful car rally starting from the Flag Pole on Front Street at 12:00 noon, on Sunday 2nd May, this coming Sunday, to protest government’s COVID vaccine initiative.

Martin Weekes, Assistant Commissioner of Police – Operations, stated: “The BPS supports peaceful protest and we have been in contact with the organisers, to discuss with them adherence to the current COVID regulations as they pertain to gatherings.

Officers will be in attendance on Sunday to ensure a smooth flow of traffic, that all safety guidelines are being observed and there are no breaches of any laws or regulations as required of us, in keeping with our mandate to keep Bermuda safe, particularly during these unprecedented times."
