In light of the 4 fatal road traffic collisions so far this year, the Bermuda Police Service continues to urge motorists to slow down and drive with care, caution and courtesy on our roads. One road death a year is one too many. The four lives lost so far this year are a tragic reminder that Bermuda's roads can be dangerous and unforgiving if sensible driving practices are not adhered to. This is especially true for motorcycle riders.
The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the death of 29 year old David Roberts of Devonshire who died as a result of a road traffic collision at 6:20am today on Parsons Road in Pembroke, adjacent to the Pembroke Rest Home. It appears that the 29 year old man was traveling east on Parsons Road when he lost control of his motorcycle, hit the nearside curb and landed in the road. This resulted in the Devonshire man being rushed to KEMH where he was later pronounced dead by an on call physician. Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone who may have seen the collision to please contact PC Asaph Rawlins at the Traffic Enforcement Unit on 299-4265 or 515-9999.
