Male Motorcyclist Hospitalised After Collision With DPT Bus

Around 9:20am Saturday, 9th March 2024, a reported two vehicle collision occurred on Harrington Sound Road in Hamilton parish, near the junction with Quarry Road.
It appears that a head-on collision involving a motorcyclist and a Department of Public Transportation (DPT) bus in the Shark Hole Hill area, resulted in the rider being temporarily trapped under the front of the bus, while still on the motorcycle.
The injured motorcyclist, understood to be a 29-year-old Pembroke man remained conscious throughout, as passengers from the bus assisted him until he could be extricated and transported to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment.
At last check he remained hospitalised, with injuries that were considered non-life threatening.
The bus driver and passengers were not hurt. However, both vehicles involved were damaged.

Police are investigating a confirmed firearms incident which took place in the area of Court Street and Elliott Street outside the Spinning Wheel night club, around 12:15 AM on Sunday, March 10, 2024.
Initial reports indicate one male sustained multiple gunshot wounds.
He was transported by ambulance to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital and is currently receiving treatment for his injuries.
There were several people in the area when the incident occurred and police are appealing for eyewitness or anyone who may have any information to call the main police number, 295-0011.
Update: Investigations continue into the firearms incident which occurred in the area of Court Street outside the Spinning Wheel night club on Court Street, Pembroke around 12:15 a.m. on Sunday, March 10, 2024.
A 38-year-old man who sustained multiple gunshot wounds in that incident remains in hospital, where he continues to receive treatment for his injuries, which are not considered life-threatening.
Court Street remained closed between Dundonald Street and Elliott Street for approximately four hours after the incident while the scene was forensically processed. Several spent shells were recovered.
It is understood that immediately after the shooting, two men dressed in dark clothing with dark tinted helmets were seen speeding along King Street on a motorcycle that did not have any number plates.
Investigators are particularly interested in speaking with anyone who may have seen individuals fitting this description in the area of Court Street and Elliott Street, Pembroke, shortly before or after the shooting.

Drug Seizure Arrests

On Sunday, March 3, 2024, Police arrested two foreign nationals were at L.F. Wade International Airport after Customs Officers discovered the visitors had in their possession, a large quantity of what is believed to be the controlled drug, cocaine.
A police spokesperson stated, "Drug smugglers go to great lengths to conceal drugs when entering our borders. We will continue to collaborate with our partners at our ports of entry to improve existing security and detection measures and protect our community.”
The items have been submitted to the government analyst for testing and an investigation into the seizure has now begun.
No further information will be provided at this time.
No Serious Injuries Reported After Two Vehicle Southampton Collision

Around 8:50pm Tuesday, 5th March 2024, a reported two vehicle collision occurred on Middle Road in Southampton, near the junction with Evans Bay Road.
Police, Bermuda Fire & Rescue Service as well as ambulance personnel responded.
It appears that a car and a truck were being driven in opposite directions along Middle Road when the collision occurred.
The car driver, understood to be a 72-year-old Warwick woman, was temporarily trapped in her vehicle, before being extracted by firefighters.
She was then transported to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment of her injuries and later discharged.
The truck driver, said to be a 48-year-old Sandys parish man, was not hurt.
However, both vehicles involved were damaged.
There was traffic disruption in the area for approximately two hours while the scene was processed.
Any witnesses that have not already come forward are encouraged to call 211.
Firearm and Ammunition Recovered

Shortly after 12:30 a.m. on Monday, March 4, 2023, police officers were on mobile patrol along Park Lane Pembroke, when they approached a small group of people gathered in the area.
Upon seeing the officers, a male member of the group ran off and dropped a number of items as he fled.
Officers recovered the items, which included a firearm and a quantity of ammunition.
The subject was subsequently arrested after he was discovered hiding at a nearby residence.
An investigation into this matter is now underway.

Some Parish Officers Temporarily Re-Deployed to General Patrol Duties

Confirmed Firearm Incident in Paget: No Reported Injuries

Detectives are currently investigating a confirmed firearm incident that occurred around 12:55am Tuesday, 27th February 2024, outside a Tribe Road Number 5, Paget home.
Bermuda Police Service (BPS) patrol officers responded and secured the scene.
Forensic evidence collected at that location confirmed that a firearm had been discharged.
However, there were no reported injuries.
So far, limited information indicates that two potential suspects were travelling together on a motorcycle in the area, at the time the gunshots were heard.
