BPS Aware of Social Media Post About Unknown Man Following Young Girl

The Bermuda Police Service is aware of a social media post circulating online from a concerned mother about an unknown man saying hello to and following her daughter.

Apparently the incident occurred around 4pm Wednesday, December 4th as the young girl walked to the Youth Library in the City of Hamilton.

The social media post said that the young girl ignored the unknown man and started running, with the unknown man running after her.

But, according to the concerned mother, her daughter managed to dash into People’s Pharmacy as a place of safety until he left.

Inquiries are being conducted regarding the circumstances described and anyone with relevant information is encouraged to come forward.

Please call the main police telephone number 295-0011 or alternatively, the independent and confidential Crime Stoppers hotline 800-8477 as soon as possible.

However, members of the public are strongly advised once again that any acts of vigilante justice that come to the attention of police – in relation to any alleged or actual incident – are not condoned and will be appropriately investigated.

All incidents are under investigation. Police are appealing to members of the public who have witnessed these incidents or may have information pertaining to them to contact their respective Police Station, Police Headquarters at 295-0011 or the confidential Crimestoppers Hotline on 1 (800) 623-8477.
