Motorcyclist Hurt After Collision With Car in Warwick [Updated]

At around 8:59 p.m. Tuesday 12th November 2019, police and first responders were dispatched to a two vehicle collision involving a motorcycle and a car at the junction of Middle Road and Khyber Pass in Warwick.

Reports are that the car was traveling east on Middle Road when the driver made a right turn onto Khyber Pass and was struck by a motorcycle ridden by an eighteen year old male who was attempting to overtake another vehicle headed west on Middle Road.

The motorcyclist sustained what were described as non life threatening injuries. He was alert at the scene and transported to hospital via ambulance for treatment of his injuries.

Traffic was diverted over Longford Road and St. Mary’s Road as the area where the collision occurred was cordoned off while the scene was processed.

There were several eyewitnesses to this road traffic collision and anyone with information is asked to call the main police number on 295-0011.

Update: Wednesday, November 13th - Witnesses are still being sought regarding a two vehicle collision that occurred around 9pm Tuesday, November 12th involving a motorcycle and a car at the junction of Middle Road and Khyber Pass in Warwick.

Apparently the car driver, said to be a 76 year old Southampton man, was traveling east along Middle Road and the motorcyclist, said to be an 18 year old Warwick man, was riding along Middle Road in the opposite direction when the collision occurred as the car driver made a right turn onto Khyber Pass and the motorcyclist attempted to overtake another vehicle traveling in the westbound lane.

The teen rider is believed to have sustained a fractured jaw and was transported to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment.

At last check earlier this morning (Wednesday, November 13th) he remained in hospital receiving medical care

The car driver was not hurt.

Traffic was diverted over Longford Road and St. Mary’s Road while the scene was processed.
