The Traffic Initiative commenced today, Friday, October 20, 2006. There were several tickets issued for a variety of offences. Below is a list of the tickets issued this morning.

• Speeding up to 50 km/h               12                   

• Speeding from 51-54 km/h           38

• Speeding in excess of 54 km/h      20

• Unlicensed motor car                    5

• Unlicensed motor bike                   2

• Unregistered auxiliary cycle            1

• No third party insurance                4

• Disobeying a traffic sign               27

• No Driver’s License                       8

• Unlawful carriage of load                1

• Defective ‘stop light’                     1

• Seatbelt Offences                        3

• Driving w/out Due Care                 4

• Tint                                           1

• Parking Offences                          3                     

The public should be advised that Police will be highly visible for the foreseeable future and the motoring public should govern themselves accordingly.
