At 10:45pm on Friday, Police attended a reported serious road traffic collision resulting in injury at the junction of Dundonald Street and Cedar Avenue in Pembroke involving an auxiliary cycle and a Police vehicle. It appears that the auxiliary cycle was traveling east on Dundonald Street and the Police vehicle was traveling south on Cedar Avenue with its emergency equipment on, heading to a reported disturbance in the City of Hamilton when the collision occurred. As a result the rider of the auxiliary cycle, a 21 year old Pembroke man, sustained serious head injuries. He was taken to the Intensive Care Unit of KEMH for treatment of his injuries. Police are appealing for witnesses to this incident or anyone with any information to contact 295-0011.

At 10:55pm on Friday, Police attended a reported serious road traffic collision resulting in injury on Middle Road in Devonshire near Garthowen Road involving a jeep and an auxiliary cycle. It appears that the Suzuki Vitara was traveling west on Middle Road when it was in collision with the auxiliary cycle which was traveling in the opposite direction. As a result the rider of the cycle, a 20 year old Sandy’s parish man, sustained head injuries and the passenger, a 20 year old Smith’s parish man, received minor facial injuries. The Sandy’s parish man was taken to the Intensive Care Unit of KEMH for treatment of his injuries. The driver of the jeep, a 47 year old Devonshire man, was not injured. Police are appealing for witnesses to this incident or anyone with any information to contact 295-0011.
