At 1:40pm on Wednesday, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury on Somerset Road in Sandy’s parish, near the junction with Broome Street. It appears that a silver Peugeot was traveling west on Somerset Road when the driver lost control of the car, striking a red Daihatsu traveling in the opposite direction before colliding with a wall, causing the Peugeot to overturn. The car was extensively damaged as a result and the driver, a 70 year old Devonshire woman, sustained a laceration to her right arm. The three passengers in the vehicle (2 women and 1 man) were not injured. The driver of the red Daihatsu, a 55 year old Sandy’s parish man, was also uninjured; however, the car’s right side was damaged in the collision.

Breaking & Entering

At 2pm on Wednesday, Police attended a reported breaking and entering at a Glebe Road, Pembroke residence. On arrival officers spoke with the complainant who stated that sometime between 7:15am and 1pm that day, an unknown culprit gained entry into his home. The culprit stole a Sony PlayStation 2 game system, a gold men’s wedding band and a silver men’s Rolex watch. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
