Attempted Robbery

Around 11:25pm on Thursday, Police attended a report of an attempted robbery on Parsons Road in Pembroke. On arrival officers spoke with the victim, a 24 year old Pembroke man, who stated that around 11:15pm he was parking his motorcycle outside his Parsons Road residence when he was approached from behind by a man who gripped him by the hands and demanded money. The Pembroke man managed to push the suspect away and call for help, alerting a neighbour who came to assist. The suspect then made good his escape on foot. The victim was not injured and nothing was taken during the incident. The suspect is described as a black male wearing blue jean shorts, a dark coloured cap and a dark coloured jacket with a white shirt underneath. He is believed to be in his early 20s. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Assault

At 11:30pm on Thursday, Police attended a reported assault on St. John’s Road in Pembroke. The victim, a 29 year old Pembroke man, was walking on St. John’s Road when three masked men got out of a car and approached him. A liquid substance was sprayed in the Pembroke man’s face before the men made good their escape in the vehicle. An area resident came to the assistance of the 29 year old after hearing his calls for help. Nothing was taken from the victim during the incident. He was taken to KEMH for treatment and subsequently released. Around 1:25 this morning, Police on mobile patrol located the vehicle used in the incident at a Middle Terrace, Pembroke residence. As a result the driver, an 18 year old Pembroke man, was arrested. Inquiries are underway.

Witness Appeal

Police are appealing for witnesses to the fatal road traffic collision that occurred around 7:35am Monday, May 16, 2005 at the junction of South Road and Zuill’s Park Road in Smith’s Parish that claimed the life of 27 year old Ronald Eugene Christopher. We are especially interested in speaking to a woman who was waiting at the westbound bus stop near the junction of South Road and Zuill’s Park Road around the time of the incident.
