Fatal RTC

Around 7:35 this morning, Police attended a reported fatal road traffic collision on Zuill’s Park Road in Smith’s parish. Details about the incident are unclear; however it appears that a motorcycle collided with a truck. The deceased (who was riding the motorcycle) is a 26 year old man. No further details will be released until the next of kin are notified. This marks the 8th road traffic fatality for 2005.

Arrests/Drug Seizures

The Police Support Unit (PSU) was on duty over the weekend conducting mobile patrols island wide, in areas including Spring Hill, Warwick; Hamilton Parish Workman’s Club, Hamilton parish; Front Street, City of Hamilton; Admiralty House Park, Pembroke; Spanish Point Park, Pembroke; Court Street, Pembroke; North Street, Pembroke; Tribe Road #5, Paget; White Hill Field, Sandy’s parish; Somerset Cricket Club, Sandy’s parish; Woody’s Bar, Sandy’s parish; Southampton Rangers Club, Southampton; St. Monica’s Road, Pembroke.

Between 8pm Friday and 4am Saturday:

  • Admiralty House Park – 15 year old boy was arrested for outstanding warrants
  • Hamilton Parish Workman’s Club – 46 year old Hamilton parish man was arrested for offensive words
  • Court Street in Pembroke – 40 year old Pembroke man was arrested for outstanding warrants, a 20 year old Pembroke man was arrested for possession of an offensive weapon, and a 22 year old Warwick man was arrested for possession of a controlled drug
  • Drugs found at Hamilton Parish Workman’s Club (plant material) – no suspect

Between 8pm Saturday and 4am Sunday:

  • Drugs found at Somerset Cricket Club (plant material) – no suspect
  • Drugs found at Southampton Rangers Club (23 twists containing white powder) – no suspect
  • Court Street in Pembroke – 30 year old Pembroke man arrested for possession of a controlled drug and an 18 year old Sandy’s parish man arrested for outstanding warrants
  • Drugs found on Elliot Street in Pembroke (plant material) - no suspect

Weekend Activity

Over the weekend there was 1 person arrested for suspicion of impaired driving and 14 incidents of breaking and entering (2 in St. George’s, 2 in Pembroke, 1 in Paget, 3 in Devonshire, 2 in Sandy’s parish and 4 in Hamilton parish). There were also 3 damage only road traffic collisions and 5 road traffic collisions resulting in injury.
