Sudden Death

Around 12:50 this morning, Police received a report of a body floating in the canal behind the Salvation Army Emergency Housing Complex on Marsh Lane in Pembroke. The body was found by two residents of the complex. A doctor attended and pronounced death at 1:30am. The body was left in situ under Police guard until daylight for investigators to conduct a full inquiry into the body being found in that location. Identification has not yet been established however we can say that it was a black male. It is anticipated that an autopsy will be carried out sometime today.

Witness Appeal

Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses to the fatal road traffic collision that occurred around 10:45pm Friday, April 29, 2005 at the junction of Cedar Avenue and Dundonald Street in Pembroke involving an auxiliary cycle and a Police vehicle, which claimed the life of 21 year old Michael Scott Kozma. We are particularly interested in speaking with a person who was at the junction of Cedar Avenue and Dundonald Street at the traffic lights on the southern side of the road facing north. We are also very interested in speaking with a motorcyclist who was traveling behind the Police vehicle prior to the collision.
