Investigation Into Death Of Kellon Hill

The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the death of 18 year old Kellon Hill of Southampton. Mr. Hill was pronounced dead at KEMH about 12:40 a.m. today as a result of a reported stabbing incident which occurred on Tribe Road #4B (the public entrance to Elbow Beach).  The initial report was received around 11:30pm Saturday 9th August 2008. There was a sizeable gathering of teenagers in the area at the time as a result of a beach party which was in progress.

Police are appealing for anyone who:-

Was present in the area at the time, or

May have witnessed this incident, or

·      

Anyone with any information about the circumstances surrounding this incident

to contact the Serious Crime Unit on 299-4315 or the confidential Crime Stoppers hotline on 1-800-623-8477. So far only a very small number of persons who were at the scene have come forward, so we would like to stress the importance of any witnesses to contact Police as soon as possible. We are also trying to locate the driver of a taxi which conveyed a number of young males from the Ice Queen restaurant in Paget to the White Hill area in Sandy’s shortly after midnight.

The investigative team which is made up of forty-one officers, is being led by Acting Superintendent Andrew Boyce.

Currently there are six male teenagers in Police custody assisting with this investigation.  

Arrangements have been made for an overseas based Forensic Pathologist to arrive on the island on Tuesday to conduct a post mortem examination of the body.

Death on Tribe Road #6

At 11:28pm, Police responded to a report of a stabbing that took place on Saturday night on Tribe Road number 6, near the public entrance to Elbow Beach in Paget. As a result an 18 year old Southampton man was taken to KEMH where he later died as a result of his injuries. Police are appealing for anyone who may have been in attendance to the party on the beach and may have witnessed the stabbing or anyone who may have any information to this incident to please contact the Serious Crime Unit on 299-4315 or the confidential Crime Stoppers hotline on 1-800-623-8477. No further information will be given until the next of kin has been notified.
