Around 9:25 this morning, Police attended a reported fire at an Elliot Street, Pembroke residence. The Bermuda Fire Service was also in attendance. The area was cordoned off and the fire extinguished. An investigation into the cause of the fire is underway.

Theft

At 2:30 this morning, Police attended a reported theft at the junction of Dundonald Street and Court Street in Pembroke. The victim, a 30 year old Pembroke man, stated that around 2:10am he was riding his auxiliary cycle west on Dundonald Street when he stopped at the traffic lights at the junction of Dundonald Street and Court Street. A man on a red Suzuki RC motorcycle also stopped at the traffic lights, and spoke to the victim. The man then grabbed the Pembroke man’s gold chain from his neck and made good his escape traveling west on Dundonald Street. The suspect is described as a brown skinned male, approximately 6’ tall of medium build with a scar on the left side of his face. He was wearing a silver helmet and a white t-shirt, and is believed to be in his 20s. The victim was not injured in the incident and inquiries are underway. Police are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with any information to contact the Hamilton Criminal Investigation Unit on 295-0011.
