Disturbance

Around 3 this morning, Police attended a reported disturbance at the Devonshire Recreational Club on Frog Lane in Devonshire. It appears that the victim, a 25 year old Pembroke man, was assaulted by a group of men following a function at the premises. The men reportedly sprayed the Pembroke man in the face with a fire extinguisher before kicking him about the body. It is also alleged that one of the assailants brandished a knife during the assault. When the victim’s friend, a 33 year old Smith’s parish man went to assist, he was also attacked by the group of men. The suspects then made good their escape. Both victims were taken to KEMH for treatment of non-life threatening injuries and later released. Inquiries into this incident are underway. Assault

At 1:20 this morning, Police attended a reported assault at the Spinning Wheel nightclub on Court Street in Pembroke. On arrival officers spoke with the victim, a 56 year old Pembroke man, who stated that around 1am he was sitting at the bar with his wife when he noticed four men standing behind him, talking loudly. He asked the men not to speak so loudly, and was punched in the head by one of the men. He was then attacked by all four men, who punched him about the body and struck him with a chair. The victim fell to the ground and was kicked about the body by the suspects before they made good their escape. The Pembroke man was treated at KEMH for bruising about the body and to his right eye and released. The suspects are described as four brown skinned males, approximately 6’2” tall, of slim build wearing baggy clothes. All of the suspects are believed to be in their late teens or early 20s. Nothing was taken from the victim during the assault. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
