Update – Fight on M/V Bermudian

A 17 year old Smith’s parish girl and an 18 year old Pembroke woman are still in Police custody following the stabbing of a 20 year old Southampton woman onboard the M/V Bermudian on Friday night. Police are still following specific lines of inquiry as it relates to reports of firearms being brandished onboard the vessel. Fire

Around 1:50 this morning, Police attended a reported fire at a Broome Street, Sandy’s parish residence. The Bermuda Fire Service also attended the scene. On arrival all occupants of the home were accounted for and there were no reported injuries. The house sustained substantial fire and smoke damage. The cause of the fire is under investigation. A 42 year old Sandy’s parish man was arrested on suspicion of arson at the scene.

Robbery

At 8:15pm on Sunday, Police attended a reported robbery on Cedar Avenue in Pembroke. On arrival officers spoke with the victim, a 39 year old Pembroke man, who stated that earlier he was approached by two men who searched through his pockets and took $250 in cash before making good their escape on foot. The Pembroke man was not injured in the incident. Two suspects were subsequently arrested on Beacon Street in Pembroke, taken to Hamilton Police Station and detained. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Weekend Activity

Over the weekend there were 3 people arrested for suspicion of impaired driving and 5 incidents of breaking and entering (1 in St. George’s, 2 in Sandy’s parish, 1 in Warwick and 1 in Pembroke). There were also 22 damage only road traffic collisions and 11 road traffic collisions resulting in injury.
