Sudden Death

Around 3:15pm on Saturday, Police received a report of a sudden death at a Moores Lane, Pembroke property. The victim, 62 year old Robert Santos of Southampton, was pronounced dead around 4:05pm at the scene by an on call physician. Foul play has not been ruled out. The Bermuda Police Service extends its sincere condolences to the family of the deceased.

Weekend Activity

Over the weekend there was 1 person arrested for suspicion of impaired driving and 9 incidents of breaking and entering. There were also 6 damage only road traffic collisions and 9 road traffic collisions resulting in injury.

Between 8pm on Friday and 4am on Saturday, the Police Support Unit (PSU) arrested 12 people for a variety of offences including suspicion of possession of a controlled drug, trespassing, outstanding warrants, perverting the course of justice, possession of an offensive weapon and breach of the peace. Also a quantity of drugs was found and seized on St. Monica’s Road in Pembroke with no suspect.

Between 8pm Saturday and 4am on Sunday, the Police Support Unit arrested 11 people for a variety of offences including obstruction, outstanding warrants, suspicion of possession of a controlled drug, and possession of an offensive weapon. Also a quantity of drugs was found and seized on Cedar Park Road in Devonshire with no suspect.

The Bermuda Police Service would like to advise the motoring public that the crane at the junction of Front Street and Par-La-Ville Road in the City of Hamilton is anticipated to be there throughout the day. We are advising motorists to avoid the area if at all possible, especially during the 5pm rush hour, to prevent traffic congestion.
