Robbery

Around 2:25 this morning, Police received a report of a robbery on North Shore Road in Hamilton parish, outside the Dub City Variety store. It appears that the victim, a 52 year old Pembroke man, was sitting on his motorcycle in the area around 12:30am when a group of men approached him. Two of the men are known to the victim. One of the men proceeded to punch the Pembroke man about the head, before taking $32 in cash. The men also took the victim’s motorcycle before making good their escape. The victim was treated at KEMH for facial cuts, swollen eyes and a swollen back. He was later released from the hospital. Inquiries into this incident are underway. Police are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with any information to contact the St. George’s Criminal Investigation Unit on 297-1122.

Weekend Activity

Over the weekend, there were 2 people arrested for suspicion of impaired driving and 5 incidents of breaking and entering (1 in Sandy’s parish, 1 in Pembroke, 2 in Warwick and 1 in Hamilton parish). There were also 13 damage only road traffic collisions and 10 road traffic collisions resulting in injury.
