Disturbance

Around 11:55pm on Wednesday, Police attended a reported disturbance on Middle Town Road in Pembroke. On arrival officers observed a crowd of approximately 50 people in the area. As officers in Police vehicles drove through the area several bottles were thrown, causing damage to the windscreen of one of the Police vehicles. As a result, a female Police officer was slightly injured, receiving minor cuts to the arm due to pieces of glass from the damaged windscreen. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Injury RTC

Around 5:50pm on Wednesday, Police attended a reported serious road traffic collision resulting in injury on South Road in Warwick near the junction with Sandy Mount Lane involving a car and an auxiliary cycle. It appears that the auxiliary cycle was traveling west behind the car (in a line of traffic) when the car attempted to turn right into Sandy Mount Lane as the motorcycle attempted to overtake, causing a collision. Both vehicles were damaged as a result. The rider of the auxiliary cycle, a 23 year old Paget man was taken to KEMH for treatment of serious facial and leg injuries. The driver of the car, a 31 year old Warwick woman, was not injured. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Weather Related Incidents

The Bermuda Police Service can report that there were no reported injuries, damage, power outages or road closures due to Tropical Storm Harvey. The Causeway was monitored hourly and remained passable throughout the storm.
