At 6:30pm on Wednesday, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury on Crow Lane in Pembroke, near the junction with Lane Hill involving two cars and a truck. It appears that a maroon Toyota Corolla was traveling west on Crow Lane with a white Volkswagen Golf traveling in the same direction in the adjoining lane when the driver of the Toyota Corolla lost control, colliding with the Volkswagen Golf. As a result the Volkswagen Golf spun into the path of a black truck traveling east. However, despite colliding with the car, the truck did not stop. The driver of the Toyota Corolla, a 41 year old Sandy's parish woman, was not injured. Her car received front end damage. The driver of the Volkswagen Golf, a 31 year old Smith's parish woman, complained of back and chest pain and was taken to KEMH, treated and later released. Two children also in the car, a 3 year old and a 7 year old, sustained minor injuries (bruising). The car received extensive front end damage. Traffic was diverted away from the area following the collision. Police are appealing for any witnesses to this incident, especially anyone with any information about a black truck involved in the collision, to contact PC Anneka Donawa on 295-0011.

Breaking & Entering

Around 8:45am on Wednesday, Police attended a reported breaking and entering at a Paget guest property. On arrival officers spoke with the complainants, who are visitors to the island. They stated that sometime between 12:30am and 7:30am that day, an unknown culprit gained entry into their room. The culprit stole a Canon digital camera, MP3 player, 300 pounds sterling and U.S. $500 in cash. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Advisory

Police are continuing to notice an increase in the amount of removed four wheeled vehicles, as well as an increase in reports of property stolen from unattended vehicles. Since September 2005 there have been 14 cars stolen. Nine of those vehicles have been recovered, leaving five outstanding. It has come to our attention that most of these cars were left insecure, leaving them vulnerable to theft. We are urging members of the public not to leave keys in the ignition or anywhere inside the car, and to secure their vehicles properly before leaving them parked and unattended - even outside your home.
