The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the death of 28 year old Andrew Kemp of Southampton who died as a result of a road traffic collision this morning. It appears around 3:40 this morning, Mr. Kemp was riding his motorcycle west on South Road in Southampton near the junction with Cross Bay Road when he lost control, colliding with the nearside curb. He was thrown from the cycle into the nearside stone wall. The 28 year old Southampton man was rushed to KEMH where he was pronounced dead by an on call physician at 5:45am. Police are appealing for any witnesses to contact the Traffic Enforcement Unit on 295-0011. The Bermuda Police Service extends its sincere condolences to the Kemp family.

Impaired Driving

Around 11pm on Saturday, Police were on mobile patrol on King Street in Pembroke when they noticed a man driving a motorcycle in an erratic manner. As a result, the officers stopped the cycle. Officers then noticed that the man's eyes were glazed, his speech was slurred, his breath smelled of alcohol and he was unsteady on his feet. The man was arrested on suspicion of impaired driving and taken to Hamilton Police Station where he was detained, after failing the alco-analyser test.
