Halloween Related Incidents

The Bermuda Police Service (including members of the Bermuda Reserve Police) had adequate resources on duty during Halloween night and into this morning to respond to any incidents that occurred. Officers patrolled island wide, dealing with a variety of calls for service. There were 16 arrests made in total (including 5 arrests on Court Street in Pembroke) for the following offences:

  • 4 arrests for drug related matters.
  • 7 arrests for possession of a pointed/bladed weapon.
  • 1 arrest for assault.
  • 3 arrests for outstanding warrants.
  • 1 arrest on suspicion of impaired driving.

The arrested individuals consisted of 14 males, ranging in age from 14 - 45 year old; as well as 2 females - a 35 year old and a 41 year old. There were also more than a dozen incidents of eggs/missiles being thrown at vehicles and buildings.

Disturbance

Around 10pm on Monday, Police received a report of a disturbance at Hamilton Parish Workman's Club. Officers attended the area and stopped a car believed to be involved in the disturbance at the junction of Sleepy Hollow Drive and North Shore Road in Hamilton parish. The occupants, a 40 year old St. George's man, a 41 year old Devonshire woman and a 14 year old Devonshire boy were arrested and taken to Hamilton Police Station after a search of the vehicle revealed a pointed/bladed weapon. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Missiles Thrown at Bus

At 5:25pm on Monday, Police attended a report of missiles being thrown at a P.T.B. bus on Palmetto Road in Devonshire near the junction with Long Ridge Pass. On arrival officers spoke with the bus driver who stated she was traveling east on Palmetto Road when a rock shattered one of the bus's windows. One of the passengers on the bus, a 62 year old Pembroke woman, received minor injuries (scratches) from the shattered glass. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
