Theft

At 1:40pm on Saturday, Police attended a reported theft from Horseshoe Bay beach on South Road in Southampton. On arrival officers spoke with the complainants who are visitors to the island. They stated that around 12:40pm they were at Jobson's Cove and left their knapsack unattended on the beach to look inside a nearby cave. However, when they returned the bag was missing. The blue St. Mary's University knapsack contained a black Samsung cellular phone, a Canon 35mm camera and personal items. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Injury RTC

At 10am on Saturday, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury on Middle Road in Southampton near the junction with Lighthouse Hill involving two cars. It appears that the cars were traveling in opposite directions when they collided. The driver of the car traveling east, a 49 year old Southampton woman, sustained bruising to her right shoulder and abrasions to her left knee, while the front seat passenger of the car traveling west, a 24 year old Sandy's parish man, sustained head and facial injuries. They were both taken to KEMH for treatment. The driver of the car traveling west was not injured. Both vehicles were extensively damaged. As a result of the collision, traffic was diverted away from the area for approximately 3 hours. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
