Injury RTC

At 6pm on Thursday, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury on North Shore Road in Devonshire near the junction with Tribe Lane involving a car and a motorcycle. It appears that the car was traveling east on North Shore Road and the motorcycle was traveling behind the car. However, as the car made a right turn into the Empire Grocery Store parking lot, the motorcycle attempted to overtake and collided with the car. The driver of the car, a 39 year old Smith's parish man, sustained minor abrasions to his right hand and face. The rider of the motorcycle, a 51 year old St. George's man, sustained two broken legs and a laceration to the forehead. He was taken to KEMH for treatment of his injuries and is currently in stable condition in the Intensive Care Unit. Both vehicles received front end damage. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Around 5:35pm on Thursday, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury on Middle Road in Devonshire, near the junction with Corkscrew Hill involving a Police vehicle and a car. It appears that the Police car was traveling east on Middle Road with its emergency equipment activated (lights & siren) when a red MG also traveling east pulled out of a line of traffic (attempting to turn right down Corkscrew Hill) into the path of the Police vehicle. The officers in the Police car were not injured and the driver of the red MG, a 51 year old Devonshire woman, sustained minor injuries. She was treated at KEMH and released. Both vehicles received front end damage. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Theft

At 7pm on Thursday, Police attended a reported theft from the Sandy's Community Centre. On arrival officers spoke with the complainant who stated that sometime between 10am and 11am on Thursday, four samurai swords were removed from the premises. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
