Assault

At 11:45pm on Thursday, Police received a report of an assault on Reid Street in the City of Hamilton near the junction with Chancery Lane. On arrival officers spoke with the victim, a 64 year old Pembroke man, who stated that he was resting in the bushes near Free Masons Hall when he was awoken by a group of men. The men proceeded to kick the victim about the body, before pushing the Pembroke man over a wall and on to the sidewalk, where they continued to bear him. The group of men then made good their escape on foot towards Burnaby Street after a member of the public confronted them. The 64 year old Pembroke man was taken to KEMH for treatment of a broken right leg. The suspects are described as young men, approximately 5'10" tall of slim build. Inquiries into this incident are underway. Burglary

Around 2:05pm on Thursday, Police attended a reported burglary at a Devon Spring Lane, Devonshire residence. On arrival officers spoke with the complainant who stated that sometime between 9am on Sunday, March 26 and 11am on Thursday, April 6, 2006 an unknown culprit gained entry into a storeroom on the premises. The culprit stole a navy blue Cannondale racing pedal cycle. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
