At 1 this morning, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury on Longbird Bridge in St. George's involving a taxi and a truck. It appears that the taxi was traveling west when it collided with the Government vehicle which was parked on the bridge as Works & Engineering were repairing the westbound lane. The taxi received extensive front end damage and the truck received front end damage, as well as damage to the driver's side door. The driver of the truck, a 30 year old Paget man who was outside the vehicle working on the bridge at the time, was treated by paramedics at the scene for minor injuries. The driver of the taxi, a 46 year old Smith's parish man, apparently was not injured. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
