At 4pm on Saturday, Police attended a report of a robbery. On arrival officers spoke with the victims, a 27 year old Paget woman and a 28 year old Warwick woman. The women stated that a short time earlier they were riding together on a motorcycle down Tribe Road #4 (near Elbow Beach) when they were approached by an unknown man on another motorcycle, who caused them to stop. He engaged the women in conversation; however, they felt uneasy about the situation, so they attempted to leave. The suspect then demanded money from the two women. The Warwick woman handed over a wallet containing $150 in cash and personal items and the Paget woman gave the suspect a $50 bill, before he made good his escape. The suspect is described as a medium brown skinned male of slim build, approximately 5'10" tall, weighing 140 - 160 pounds with braided hair and no facial hair. He was wearing a white t-shirt, light blue baggy jeans and an open face helmet. He is believed to be in his late teens or early 20s and was riding a light metallic gold coloured Yamaha motorcycle with a white mud guard. Inquiries into this incident are underway. Police are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with any information about this incident to contact the Hamilton Criminal Investigation Unit on 295-0011 or the confidential Crimestoppers Hotline on 1-800-623-8477.
