Burglary

Around 12:20 this morning, Police attended a reported burglary at a Hamilton parish guest property. On arrival officers spoke with the victim, a 50 year old Canadian man, who stated that earlier he was in his apartment when an unknown man gained entry brandishing a hacksaw and demanded money. The contract worker gave the suspect $300 in cash. The suspect then searched the apartment before making good his escape. The suspect is described as a dark skinned male, approximately 5'9" tall of slim build, wearing a yellow jacket with a black hood pulled over his head. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Assault

At 3pm on Wednesday, Police attended a report of an assault at King's Wharf in Dockyard. On arrival officers spoke with the victim, a crew member of the Explorer of the Seas cruise ship. He stated that around 2am that day, while at a function at Pirate's Landing in Dockyard with other crew members of the ship, an unknown man approached him at the bar. The suspect then punched the make crew member in the face three times. The victim sustained a fractured nose as a result. The suspect, who arrived with a group of men, stayed in the area for a while before leaving with the men in the cars they arrived in. The main suspect is described as a black male of slim build, approximately 6' tall wearing a white shirt. The other men are described as black males who appeared to be in their late 20s or early 30s, wearing baggy clothing and baseball caps. Inquiries into this incident are underway. Police are appealing for any witnesses to this incident or anyone with any information to contact the Somerset Criminal Investigation Unit on 234-1010.
