Arrest

At 2:50 this morning, Police attended an alarm activation at the Gosling's Warehouse on Dundonald Street in Pembroke. On arrival officers observed a man on the property who attempted to make good his escape. However, officers gave chase and apprehended the suspect, a 36 year old Southampton man. He was subsequently arrested on suspicion of burglary, taken to Hamilton Police Station and detained after a check of the building revealed several of the offices had been ransacked. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Injury RTC

Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses to the serious single vehicle road traffic collision that occurred around 3pm Sunday on North Shore Road in Hamilton parish near the junction with Trinity Church Road. The rider of the motorcycle, a 23 year old Hamilton parish man, is currently in stable condition in the Intensive Care Unit at KEMH. Assault

At 4:30pm on Friday, Police attended a reported assault at the junction of Church Street and Washington Lane in the City of Hamilton. On arrival officers spoke with the victim, a 45 year old Hamilton parish man, who stated that he was at the bus terminal with his 9 year old son when a young man took his son's bus pass and walked off with two other young men. The father followed the three teenagers and stopped them at the junction of Church Street and Washington Lane, where he asked for the bus pass back. The young man who took the bus pass threw it to the ground and the father picked it up. A verbal confrontation then took place and the father was assaulted by all three young men; one hit him in the head with a hard object while the others kicked him after he fell to the ground. A member of the public intervened and the three suspects made good their escape on foot towards Reid Street. The 45 year old Hamilton parish man was taken to KEMH via ambulance for treatment of his injuries (a cut to the head and bruising) and released. Inquiries into this incident are underway. Police are appealing for any witnesses to this incident or anyone with any information to contact the Hamilton Criminal Investigation Unit on 295-0011.

Weekend Activity

Over the weekend there were 8 people arrested on suspicion of impaired driving and 10 burglaries. There were also 16 damage only road traffic collisions and 9 road traffic collisions resulting in injury.
