The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the death of 53 year old Michael James Douglas of Pembroke. Around 4:45pm on Friday, Police attended a fatal road traffic collision at the junction of Bishop Spencer Road and Palmetto Road in Pembroke, involving a pedal cycle and a truck. It appears that the rider of the pedal cycle, a 53 year old Pembroke man, was traveling north on Bishop Spencer Road and the truck was traveling west on Palmetto Road when they collided at the junction. The Pembroke man sustained serious head injuries and was rushed to KEMH via ambulance. He was subsequently pronounced dead at the hospital. The driver of the truck, a 22 year old St. George's man, was not injured. Inquiries into this incident are underway. Police are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with any information to contact PC Sean Mullan on 295-0011.
