At 5:20 this morning, Police attended a reported single vehicle road traffic collision resulting in injury on Middle Road in Warwick, near the junction with Tamarind Vale. It appears that a white Mitsubishi taxi was traveling east on Middle Road when the driver, a 53 year old Pembroke man lost control of the vehicle, mounting the sidewalk and colliding with a boulder. This caused the taxi to overturn and end up on its roof on Spice Valley Middle School field. The driver managed to get out of the vehicle, sustaining only minor abrasions to his right arm. The taxi then caught fire. The Bermuda Fire Service attended and extinguished the blaze, which extensively damaged the vehicle. The Pembroke man was issued a ticket for driving without due care and attention. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
