Injury RTC

At 12:15 this morning, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury on Harrington Sound Road in Hamilton parish near the junction with Broken Hill Road involving two motorcycles. It appears that one motorcycle was traveling west on Harrington Sound Road and the other motorcycle was traveling in the opposite direction when they collided attempting to negotiate a bend in the road. The rider of the motorcycle traveling west, an 18 year old Paget man, sustained broken ribs and a collapsed lung while the rider of the motorcycle traveling east, a 33 year old man, sustained a fractured right shoulder. Both men were taken to KEMH for treatment of their injuries; the Paget man is currently in stable condition on a general ward while the 33 year old man was treated and released. The 33 year old man was subsequently arrested on suspicion of impaired driving, taken to Hamilton Police Station and detained after failing the alco-analyser test. Burglary/Assault

Around 2:15am on Sunday, Police attended a reported burglary at a Swansbay Hill, Pembroke residence. The victim, a 53 year old Pembroke man, stated that around 2am he was awoken by noises and saw two unknown men inside his home. A struggle ensued with the intruders which awoke the victim's wife. The suspects then fled the area on foot and made good their escape. During the struggle the victim was stabbed in his right side and left hand. He was taken to KEMH, treated and later released. Nothing was reported stolen. One suspect is described as a dark skinned male of slim build, approximately 5'9" tall with short hair, wearing a long sleeved white t-shirt and baggy black jeans. He is believed to be in his 20s. The other suspect is described as a dark brown skinned male of medium build, approximately 5'8" tall with long unkempt hair, wearing a long sleeved white t-shirt and dark blue baggy jeans. He is believed to be in his 30s. Inquiries into this incident are underway. Anyone with any information about this incident is asked to contact the Hamilton Criminal Investigation Unit on 295-0011.

Around 10:15am on Sunday, Police received a report of a burglary at a Canal Road, Pembroke residence. The complainant stated that sometime between 6:30pm on Saturday and 9:15am on Sunday, an unknown culprit gained entry into the residence, which is under construction. The culprit stole two water pumps and a yellow DeWalt chopping saw. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Weekend Activity

Over the weekend there were 3 people arrested on suspicion of impaired driving and 8 burglaries. There were also 20 damage only road traffic collisions and 11 road traffic collisions resulting in injury.
