Assault

At 8:30pm on Tuesday, Police attended KEMH following a reported assault near the junction of Store Lane and Roberts Avenue in Devonshire. On arrival officers spoke with the victim, an 18 year old Devonshire man. He stated that earlier he was on Friswells Hill in Devonshire with other individuals when two young men approached him brandishing bladed articles. The Devonshire man and the other individuals chased the suspects off the hill and on to Roberts Avenue. At that time one of the suspects, a 15 year old from St. George's, stabbed the victim in his right arm. Both suspects then fled the scene heading towards Palmetto Road. The 18 year old was taken to the hospital by a member of the public on a motorcycle, where he was treated for a laceration to his right arm. His injury is not believed to be life threatening. A 15 year old young man from Pembroke was subsequently arrested in connection with this incident. Police are appealing for any witnesses to this incident or anyone with any information to contact the Hamilton Criminal Investigation Unit on 295-0011.

Burglary

At 7:40 this morning, Police attended a reported burglary at a Devonshire guest property. On arrival officers spoke with the complainant, who is a visitor to the island. She stated that sometime between 2am and 7am today, an unknown culprit gained entry into her room while she and her son were sleeping and stole her handbag. The black handbag contained U.S. $250 in cash, a Blackberry cellular phone, a silver Minolta digital camera and personal items. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

At 5:05pm on Tuesday, Police attended a reported burglary at an Ord Road, Warwick residence. On arrival officers spoke with the complainant who stated that sometime between 1:30pm and 4pm that day, an unknown culprit gained entry into her home. The culprit stole a silver 27" Toshiba flat screen TV. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
