Injury RTC

Around 8:10pm on Sunday, Police received a report of a serious road traffic collision resulting in injury on North Shore Road in Hamilton parish, near the junction with Winton Hill Lane. It appears that a rental cycle was traveling east on North Shore Road when the rider, a 28 year old man (Canadian national & contract worker) lost control and collided with a car traveling in the opposite direction. Another car, which was also traveling west, then collided into the rear of the first car. The rider of the rental cycle was rushed to KEMH via ambulance for treatment of serious head injuries and a broken leg. He is currently in critical condition in the Intensive Care Unit. The drivers of the cars were not injured. Inquiries into this incident are underway. Police are appealing for any witnesses to this incident to contact the Traffic Enforcement Unit on 299-4265.

Burglary

At 6:15 this morning, Police attended a reported burglary at a Waller's Point Road, St. George's business. On arrival officers spoke with the owner who stated that sometime between 6:30pm on Sunday and 6am today, an unknown culprit or culprits gained entry into the premises. The culprit(s) stole 2 marine generators, 4 circular saws, 2 compressors, 2 welding kits, fiberglass materials, 4 VHF antennas, 2 hydraulic steering kits, 25 cases of marine oil, 3 sets of trim tabs, an unknown quantity of bilge pumps and 7 batteries. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Weekend Activity

Over the weekend there were 9 people arrested on suspicion of impaired driving and 9 reported burglaries (1 in St. George's, 1 in Devonshire, 5 in Pembroke, 1 in Warwick and 1 in Sandy's parish). There were also 8 reported damage only road traffic collisions and 10 reported road traffic collisions resulting in injury.
