Wed, 2006-11-08

Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses to the fatal road traffic collision that claimed the life of 52 year old David Santucci at the junction of Middle Road and Longford Road in Warwick on Wednesday at 11:55am. We are particularly interested in speaking with any motorists who may have been traveling east or west in the Middle Road/Longford Road area around the time of the collision. Any witnesses are asked to contact PC Shameen Iqbal on 299-4265 or 777-0999.

Police are also continuing to appeal for witnesses to a damage only road traffic collision (hit & run) that occurred around 8:35am Tuesday on Somerset Road near the junction with Morgan Hill in Sandy's parish involving an auxiliary cycle and a jeep. It appears that the auxiliary cycle was traveling east on Somerset Road behind another vehicle, which slowed to make a left turn. The rider of the auxiliary cycle, a 16 year old young woman from Sandy's parish, also slowed down but was struck from behind by a white Mitsubishi jeep. The driver of the jeep got out and gave some assistance to the young woman, then suggested she ride to the Port Royal Gas Station and he would follow in his vehicle, to sort out the situation. However, when the 16 year old reached the gas station the driver of the jeep failed to turn into the premises and sped off. The cycle received rear end damage. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

The culprit stole $256 in cash. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
