Injury RTC

Around 8:15pm on Tuesday, Police received a report of a road traffic collision resulting in injury at the junction of South Road and Lovers Lane in Paget involving three cars and a motorcycle. Details about the collision remain unclear; however the rider of the motorcycle, a 39 year old Smith's parish man, was taken to KEMH via ambulance for treatment of head injuries and multiple abrasions. He is currently in stable condition in the Intensive Care Unit. The motorcycle was extensively damaged. Inquiries into this incident are underway. Police are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to contact PC Cletus Cyris on 295-0011.

Assault

At 8:45pm on Tuesday, Police attended KEMH after a reported assault and spoke to the victim, a 37 year old Pembroke man, who stated that around 8pm he was approached by two men at a Cedar Avenue, Pembroke residence, one of whom he is familiar with. The acquaintance demanded money and when the Pembroke man said he didn't have any, the known suspect attacked him with a baseball bat, striking his left arm and the left side of his face and body. The unknown suspect allegedly held the victim and punched him several times to the body during the assault. The 37 year old sustained a possible broken left arm and swelling to the left side of his face and rib area. He was taken to KEMH for treatment of his injuries and is in stable condition on a general ward. Both suspects, a 20 year old Devonshire man and a 28 year old Devonshire man, were arrested at the scene. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
