Burglary

At 7 this morning, Police attended a reported burglary at the Collectors Hill Apothecary in Smith’s parish. On arrival officers spoke with the complainant who stated that sometime earlier this morning, an unknown man gained entry into the premises. The culprit stole 56 cartons of assorted cigarettes (Kool, Marlboro, Camel, Winston etc.). Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Damage Only RTC

At 6:50 this morning, Police attended what appeared to be a single vehicle damage only road traffic collision on Gilbert Hill in Smith’s parish. Details about the collision remain unclear; however, it appears that around 6am a car went over a wall and overturned, ending up in the yard of a Gilbert Hill, Smith’s parish residence. The home was not damaged. It is unknown if anyone was injured as a result of the collision, as the occupant(s) fled the scene prior to Police arrival. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

At 12:30 this morning, Police attended a reported single vehicle damage only road traffic collision on South Road in Smith’s parish, near the junction with Sommersall Road. It appears that the car, a silver Opel, was traveling east on South Road when the driver, a 46 year old St. George’s woman, lost control and collided with an embankment, causing the car to overturn. The car received extensive front end damage; however, the driver was not injured. The St. George’s woman was subsequently arrested on suspicion of impaired driving and detained after refusing to take the alco-analyser test. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Injury RTC

Around 10:50pm on Saturday, Police attended a reported single vehicle road traffic collision resulting in injury on South Road in Paget near the junction with Cataract Hill. It appears that the car was traveling west when the driver, a 53 year old Warwick man, lost control while negotiating a right hand bend. The car collided with the entrance to Paraquet Restaurant & Apartments and then overturned, causing damage to the entrance and multiple areas of the vehicle. The Warwick man is believed to have sustained whiplash injuries and was taken to KEMH for treatment. The car was impounded. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
