Robbery

Around 10:30pm on Wednesday, a 56 year old Hamilton parish man reported he was robbed at Bulls Head Car Park in Pembroke. The victim stated that he was walking to his car, which was parked inside the car park, when he was approached by an unknown man who demanded money on the south ramp near Masters Limited. The Hamilton parish man denied the suspect and a brief physical altercation took place,, during which the suspect brandished a sharp object believed to be a knife. The suspect then took $65 in cash from the victim before fleeing on foot towards Dundonald Street, making good his escape. The Hamilton parish man sustained a minor stab wound; however, he did not attend the hospital for treatment. The suspect is described as a dark skinned male, approximately 5'6" tall, of thin build, with a full head of hair wearing a dark coloured jacket and carrying plastic sunglasses. He is believed to be in his early to mid 30s and was scruffy in appearance. Inquiries into this incident are underway. Assault

Around 7:20pm on Wednesday, Police attended a reported assault on Point Pleasant Road in Pembroke. On arrival officers spoke with the victim, a 54 year old Devonshire man, who stated that earlier he was at Albouy's Point sitting on a bench when he was approached by a young man who attempted to engage him in a conversation, then threatened him. The Devonshire man walked off; however, he soon realized that he was being followed by a group of men. The men began to accuse the 54 year old of owing them money before punching him about the body. One of the suspects also struck the victim with a helmet. The Devonshire man then managed to escape his assailants and call Police. On Police arrival the group of men ran off; but two suspects, a 20 year old Paget man and a 17 year old young man from Sandy's parish were subsequently arrested, taken to Hamilton Police Station and detained. The victim sustained a wound near his right eye, but did not attend the hospital for treatment. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
