Injury RTC - Around 9:15pm on Wednesday, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury at the junction of Middle Road and South Road in Southampton involving a car and a taxi. It appears that the car was traveling west on Middle Road and the taxi was traveling in the opposite direction when the vehicles collided. The driver of the car, a 30 year old Southampton man, was not injured. The driver of the taxi, a 68 year old Warwick man, sustained bruising to his chest. There were three passengers in the taxi at the time and it appears that two of them were injured. However, all three passengers were taken to KEMH via ambulance for assessment. A 32 year old Paget woman sustained an injury to her right arm & shoulder while a 16 year old young woman from Sandy’s parish apparently sustained an injury to her neck. A 4 month old baby who was also in the taxi at the time was not injured. Both vehicles received extensive front end damage. Traffic was diverted away from the scene for approximately an hour. Inquiries into this incident are underway. Police are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to contact PC Matthieu Richard on 295-0011.

Handbag Snatch

Around 5:15pm on Wednesday, Police received a report of a handbag snatch on Cobbs Hill Road in Warwick. It appears that the victim, an 82 year old Warwick woman, was walking along Cobbs Hill Road when an unknown man on a motorcycle rode past and grabbed her handbag from her shoulder. The suspect then made good his escape with the bag. The victim was not injured. The green handbag contained a quantity of cash and personal items. The suspect is described as wearing black clothing, a black helmet and riding a black motorcycle. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
