Damage Only RTC/Impaired Driving - Around 1am today, Police attended a reported single vehicle damage only road traffic collision at the junction of Middle Road and White Hill Lane in Sandy’s parish. It appears that a car was traveling east on Middle Road when the driver lost control and collided with a utility pole. The driver then left the scene prior to Police arrival. The car sustained extensive front end damage. The collision caused power failure in the immediate area. A Sandy’s parish man, believed to be the driver of the car at the time of the collision, was subsequently arrested on suspicion of impaired driving in connection with this incident. Inquiries are underway.

Injury RTC

At 8:45pm on Sunday, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury at the junction of Middle Road and Christ Church Lane in Devonshire involving a car and a motorcycle. It appears that the car was traveling west on Middle Road and the motorcycle was traveling in the opposite direction when the vehicles collided. The rider of the motorcycle, a 34 year old Smith’s parish man, sustained a broken leg and abrasions to his body. He was taken to KEMH via ambulance for treatment. The driver of the car, a 50 year old Pembroke man, was not injured. The motorcycle received extensive front end damage while the car received moderate front end damage. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Person of Interest – Located

The Bermuda Police Service would like to thank the public for their assistance in locating Winslow ‘Scaley’ Williams. He was arrested this morning in Pembroke.

Weekend Activity

Over the weekend there were 5 people arrested on suspicion of impaired driving and 5 reported burglaries. There were also 14 reported damage only road traffic collisions, 8 reported road traffic collisions resulting in injury and 3 vehicles reported taken without their owners’ consent.
