Robbery

Around 12:30am today, Police received a report of a robbery on Old Military Road in St. George’s. It appears that the victim, a 36 year old Sandy’s parish man, was walking in the area around midnight when he was approached by two unknown men. The suspects set upon the Sandy’s parish man and removed a quantity of cash as well as a gold coloured chain before making good their escape on a motorcycle. The victim sustained a bruise above his left eye and bruising to his right elbow and forearm. The suspects are described as a tall, heavy set yellow skinned man and a small, dark skinned man; both men were wearing dark coloured jackets. Inquiries into this incident are underway. Police are appealing for any witnesses to this incident or anyone with any information to contact the St. George’s Criminal Investigation Unit on 293-2222.

Around 10:55pm on Wednesday, Police received a report of a robbery on Spanish Point Road in Pembroke, near the junction with Tulo Lane. It appears that the victim, a 53 year old man visiting from the UK, was riding a rental cycle traveling north on Spanish Point Road when an unknown man on a scooter rode up behind him and attempted to remove his black knapsack from the rental cycle’s basket. In doing so, the suspect caused the victim and the rental cycle to fall to the ground. The culprit was then able to make good his escape with the knapsack, which contained a quantity of cash and personal items. A truck driver traveling in the area at the time came to the assistance of the 53 year old visitor, who sustained an abrasion to his right elbow. The suspect is described as a light brown skinned male, approximately 5’7” tall of stocky build wearing a black open face helmet, dark coloured hooded top and dark coloured sweatpants, riding a dark coloured scooter. Inquiries into this incident are underway. Police are appealing for any witnesses to this incident, particularly the male driver of a blue open back truck that stopped to assist the victim, or anyone with any information to contact the Hamilton Criminal Investigation Unit on 295-0011.

Injury RTC

Around 7:50pm on Wednesday, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury on The Lane in Paget involving two motorcycles. It appears that the motorcycles were traveling in opposite directions on The Lane when they collided. The rider of the eastbound cycle, a 19 year old Devonshire man, sustained a leg injury while the rider of the westbound cycle, a 27 year old Devonshire man, sustained cuts & abrasions to his chin. The 19 year old Devonshire man was taken to KEMH via ambulance for treatment. Both cycles received extensive front end damage. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
