Around 4:35pm on Tuesday, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury on Harrington Sound Road in Smith’s parish near the junction with Manor House Drive. It appears that a truck was traveling west on Harrington Sound Road when the vehicle collided with the Manor House Bridge, causing extensive damage to the bridge and the cab of the truck. The driver, a 47 year old St. George’s man, sustained a small cut to his nose. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

At 8am on Tuesday, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury on South Road in Warwick in the vicinity of Warwick Camp involving a car and a motorcycle. It appears that both vehicles were traveling west on South Road, with the motorcycle in front of the car. The rider of the motorcycle, a 34 year old Devonshire man, stopped at the junction with Warwick Camp and indicated his intention to turn into the premises. However, the westbound car collided with the rear of the cycle, ejecting the rider, who sustained abrasions to his left ankle and complained of back pain and headache. He was taken to KEMH via ambulance for treatment. The cycle ended up colliding with an eastbound car. The driver of the westbound car, a 56 year old Sandy’s parish man, was not injured. The driver of the eastbound car, a 64 year old Sandy’s parish woman, was not injured. The motorcycle received rear end damage, while the westbound car received extensive front end damage and the eastbound car received damage to its right side. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Burglary

At 6:10pm on Monday, Police received a report of a burglary at a Pitts Bay Road, Pembroke residence. The complainant stated that sometime between 8:30am and 5:50pm that day, an unknown culprit gained entry into his home while it was unoccupied. The culprit stole an X-Box 360 video game system, a 32” JVC flat screen TV, an I-Pod Touch, an I-Pod Nano, a Dell laptop computer, a Sony digital camera, a BlackBerry Curve cellular phone and a quantity of DVDs. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
