Robbery - At 1:10am today (Friday), Police attended a reported robbery on Woodlands Road in Pembroke. On arrival officers spoke with the victims, a 40 year old Pembroke man and a 53 year old Devonshire man. They stated that around 12:40am they were walking along Woodlands Road towards Bulls Head car park when two unknown men on a motorcycle approached them. The suspects assaulted the victims with crash helmets, took a quantity of cash from them and then made good their escape. Both the 40 year old Pembroke man and the 53 year old Devonshire man were taken to KEMH via ambulance for treatment of their injuries. The Pembroke man remains at the hospital receiving treatment for facial injuries, while the Devonshire man was treated for his injuries and later released. The suspects are described as two light skinned black males believed to be in their late teens or early 20s. One of suspects was approximately 5’8” tall and the other was approximately 5’10” tall. Inquiries into this incident are underway. Police are appealing for any witnesses to this incident or anyone with any information to contact the Hamilton Criminal Investigation Unit on 295-0011.

Injury RTC/Impaired Driving

Around 10:40pm on Thursday, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury on South Road in Southampton near the junction with Pie Crust Place involving a car and a motorcycle. It appears that the car was traveling west on South Road and the motorcycle was traveling in the opposite direction when the vehicles collided. The rider of the motorcycle, a 23 year old Sandy’s parish man, was apparently not injured; however his passenger sustained minor abrasions to their arms & legs. The driver of the car, a 51 year old Warwick man, was not injured. The motorcycle and the car both received extensive front end damage. The rider of the motorcycle was subsequently arrested on suspicion of impaired driving. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
