Injury RTC - Around 9:20am on Wednesday, Police received a report of a road traffic collision resulting in injury on Granaway Lane in Southampton involving a van and a pedestrian. It appears that around 7:25am the pedestrian, an 11 year old Southampton boy, was walking along Granaway Lane when a white van collided with him, knocking the boy to the ground. The van did not stop. The victim sustained a swollen & bruised left knee, scratches to his right leg and a swollen right eye. The white van is described as having tinted windows and apparently leaves the Granaway Lane area around 7:30am each morning. Police are appealing for any witnesses to this incident or anyone with any information to contact PC Kendy Swainson at the Somerset Police Station on 234-1010.

Around 9:30pm on Tuesday, Police attended a reported single vehicle road traffic collision resulting in injury on St. David’s Road in St. George’s near the junction with Emily’s Bay Lane. It appears that a car was traveling east on St. David’s Road when the driver, a 24 year old Pembroke man, lost control and collided with an embankment causing the vehicle to overturn. The Pembroke man sustained a bump to the head and scratches to his left hand; however, he declined medical assistance. The car received damage to multiple areas. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Witness Appeal – Fatal RTC

The Bermuda Police Service is continuing to appeal for any witnesses to the fatal road traffic collision that occurred on Middle Road in Southampton in the area of Jew’s Bay around 5:40am Saturday which claimed the life of 38 year old Moses Jacobs. Anyone with any information is encouraged to contact the Somerset Police Station on 234-1010.

The Bermuda Police Service is advising the motoring public to drive & ride with caution due to the current weather conditions/road conditions. Motorists should obey all traffic lights & posted road signs (including speed limits), make sure there is enough room between their vehicle and the vehicle in front of them, and drive responsibly.
