Robbery - At 10:45pm on Thursday, Police attended a reported robbery on Park Road in Pembroke. On arrival officers spoke with the victim, a Pembroke man, who stated that around 10:30pm that day he was walking west on Park Road when he was approached by five young men. One of the suspects demanded money from the victim and punched him in the face before removing a black I-Pod as well as a green over the shoulder bag containing a black Motorola cellular phone, an ‘Easy Link’ internet receiver and personal items. The assailant and his accomplices then made good their escape. The main suspect was described as medium brown skinned, 6’ tall with no facial hair wearing a red jacket with a grey hood and dark coloured long pants.

At 10:10pm on Thursday, Police received a report of a robbery on Pitts Bay Road in Pembroke. It appears that the victims, a 42 year old UK man and a 41 year old UK man who are visitors to the island, were walking along Pitts Bay Road when they were approached by three young black men, while another small group of men stood nearby. The three suspects demanded money from the two UK men, with one of the offenders allegedly brandishing a beer bottle. The victims gave the suspects a quantity of cash and the offenders then made good their escape on foot, running east on Pitts Bay Road. The main suspects were described as three young black men; one was 5’2” tall of slim build; one was 5’10” tall of average build and the third was over 6’ tall of stocky build.

Between 10pm and 11pm on Thursday, there were four reported robberies in the City of Hamilton area. Inquiries into all of them are ongoing. It appears that these incidents are linked and three men have been arrested in connection with these matters; a 23 year old Devonshire man, an 18 year old Warwick man and a 15 year old young man from Devonshire. The Bermuda Police Service is appealing for witnesses to these incidents or anyone with any information to contact the Hamilton Criminal Investigation Unit on 295-0011.
